Tshepo Mokwebo (DJ XQ) was born in Alexandra Township as the second born child raised by a single parent. Due to physical disability (rickets: bone and muscular disorder) was limited to activities that he may participate in. Which later led him to develop love and passion for entertainment, sales and designing of any kind. Due to his good ear for music, great sight for designs, bold communication and involvement within the necessary industries (entertainment, interior & furniture designs and sales) he developed and enhanced his skills in all aspects.
He started playing and collecting tapes and music vinyl at the age of 12 years. His musical collection was mostly the likes of early 90's sound of Ten City, Inner City, Byron Stingily, Joyce Simms and Robin S just to
name a few. Till this day he’s regarded as a pioneer of house music by the members of his community and clients.
As demand for dee-jays and parties grew, Tshepo Mokwebo (DJ XQ) was booked for all kind of events (parties, wedding, promotions, street bash...) as they were the most popular activities within the townships. He along with friends, started throwing street bashes, and other parties in popular venues around Johannesburg.
In the mid to late 90’s he became an active music producer to a team of friends known as Syco Squad whom were highly active in hip-hop music. Alexandra 90th Celebration was one of the biggest highlights of his career where he got to showcase his skills as a DJ. Tshepo Mokwebo (DJ XQ) got to play his deep but popular house tunes’ set and also open for Syco Squad, Skwata Kamp & Lebo Mathosa.
During and after that period he continued to get booked and shared the stage with the likes of Trompies, Bongo Muffin, DJ Vinny Da Vinci, DJ Christos, Dj Ganyani and Black Coffee just to list a few known and prominent brands in the industry.
In the late 20’s Tshepo Mokwebo (DJ XQ) founded Namo Music which is an entertainment and events company. Tshepo Mokwebo (DJ XQ) worked with and not limiting to rendering services to individuals & both public and private sector and companies such as Brandhouse, O’Keeffe & Swartz, Barloworld and On Digital Media.
Since then till now the establishment of Namo Music opened doors to work and or produce music for Revolution, Amstel, Mega, Mathabatha, Monde Dube, C-ga, Sean Pages, K2 (Big Brother SA), Bomvino, Primus Laidee, Kay-C, Bontle, Skaars, Shantel Semenya, Ntombi & Ace (Big Brother SA), Gwaiza (TK Zee Family) and many more.

DJ XQ has also done soundtracks for feature films, TV shows and movies such as Chucklas.

Amongst other things Tshepo Mokwebo believes in giving back to the community. By means of mentoring, equipment sponsoring and financial support.
Alex Community, Leeukop Correctional Services, Open House, Live-Learn-Inspire Dreamworks, Alex FM and Friends For Life have been one the beneficiaries of Tshepo Mokwebo’s (DJ XQ) social responsibilities.
